4) Involve the people – Increase engagement
Whenever an organization imposes new things on their people, they should expect a few difficulties in adoption. It helps to get your employees involved in the process right from the beginning – after all, they will be the ones making the change and you may find they have many good ideas about how to implement and manage the change in question. Participation, involvement and open, early, full communication are the important factors. Engagement is all about creating a dialogue with those been asked to make the change, have you ever been “talked at” instead of had someone “talk with”? It doesn’t feel good to have someone talk at you. It leaves you feeling like you might as well not have been there at all. It is much more powerful asking questions so increase engagement by asking questions when leading change.
