Privacy Policy

Committed to protecting your privacy

GreenRoad Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“GreenRoad”) know you care about how your personal information is used and shared. We take your privacy concerns seriously. Please read the content below to learn more about our Privacy Policy. By visiting the GreenRoad web site at http://greenroad.com or by using any of our Services (as defined in our Terms of Use), you acknowledge and accept the practices and policies outlined in the GreenRoad Privacy Policy.

What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?
This Privacy Policy covers the GreenRoad treatment of the personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) GreenRoad gathers when you are accessing the web sites controlled by GreenRoad and its affiliates. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that GreenRoad does not own or control, or to individuals GreenRoad does not employ or manage.

What Personal Information Does GreenRoad Display or Collect?
The information we gather from users enables us to personalize and improve our Services, and to allow our users to set up a user account and profile that can be used to interact with other users through our web sites. In connection with our web sites, we may request and display some personal information to other users and visitors of our web sites, which allows users to identify each other. We collect the following types of information from our users:

Personal Information You Provide to Us:
We receive and store any information you enter on our web sites or provide to us in any other way, including, but not limited to information gathered as part of the sign up process, and by Devices (as defined in our Terms of Use) as you use our Services. The types of Personal Information collected may include your name, occupation, type of vehicle, address, phone number, and email address and information about your use of the Services on the web sites, as well as credit card, debit card or bank account information. You may choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of many of our special features or even some of our basic features. The Personal Information you provide is used for such purposes as collecting payment for Services; providing the information in the Services; responding to your requests for certain information, products and services; customizing the content you see; and communicating with you about safety issues.

Personal Information Collected Automatically:
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with greenroad.com or obtain Services from us. GreenRoad automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, GreenRoad cookie information, and the pages you requested and visited.  Our persistent and session ID cookies provide data that GreenRoad may use and analyze regarding the use of the GreenRoad web sites and services available therein. Information collected may include but is not limited to web site traffic volume, frequency of visits, type and time of transactions, type of browser and operating system, etc.

We also record the details of your transactions on our web sites.

Generally, our Services automatically collect usage information, such as the location and speed of the vehicle with a GreenRoad device installed, and numbers and frequency of visitors to our site and its components, similar to TV ratings that indicate how many people watched a particular show. Other than uses in providing the Services to you (and your employer, insurer or others whom you authorized to receive such information), GreenRoad only uses this data in aggregate form, that is, as a statistical measure, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. This type of aggregate data enables us to figure out how often users use parts of our web sites or Services so that we can make our web sites appealing to as many users as possible, and improve those services. As part of this use of information, we may provide aggregate information to our partners about how our users, collectively, use our site. We share this type of statistical data so that our partners also understand how often people use their services and the web sites, so that they, too, may provide you with an optimal online experience. Again, GreenRoad never discloses aggregate information to a partner in a manner that would identify you personally.

Information Collected from E-mail Communications:
We often receive a confirmation when you open an e-mail from GreenRoad, if your computer supports this type of program. GreenRoad uses this confirmation to help us make e-mails more effective and helpful.

Information Collected from Cookies:
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and tell us how and when pages in our site are visited and by how many people.

Most browsers have an option for turning off the cookie feature, which will prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, as well as (depending on the sophistication of your browser software) allowing you to decide on the acceptance of new cookies. We strongly recommend, however, that you leave the cookies activated because cookies enable you to take advantage of some of our web sites’ most attractive features.
