GreenRoad Wins Brake Fleet Safety Product Award; T-Mobile Wins Accolade from Brake and RoadSafe
LONDON, UK, – June 23rd, 2008 – GreenRoad Technologies, an innovative world leader in driver safety technologies, today announced that it has won the Fleet Safety Product Award at Brake’s (www.brake.org.uk) annual Fleet Safety Forum Awards for Excellence. These prestigious, run by the Fleet Safety Forum, a division of Brake, recognise the outstanding achievements of those working to help reduce the one in four road deaths involving an at-work driver.
The Fleet Safety Product Award was presented at a Brake gala dinner on Friday June 6th. In addition to Safety Center’s recognition as the product that does the most to improve fleet safety through technology, GreenRoad customer T-Mobile was highly commended in the Company Driver Safety Award. T-Mobile was acknowledged for its success in reducing accidents and making its drivers safer using GreenRoad Safety Center.
In addition, HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO, the patron of RoadSafe, recently presented a business ‘champion’ certificate to Nigel Wilkinson, Head of Health, Safety and Environment at T-Mobile. The certificate, endorsed by the Transport Minister Jim Fitzpatrick, is in recognition of the company’s commitment to the government-backed Driving for Better Business programme that is aimed at developing a network of employers from all industries to promote good practice and reduce the frequency and severity of at-work road crashes.

GreenRoad clients reduce accidents by an average of 54 percent, lower fuel consumption by 7–10 percent, and decrease accident costs by an average of 65 percent. GreenRoad Safety Center rates driving skills without invading the driver’s privacy or tracking their location. An in-vehicle sensor collects information on over 120 different driving manoeuvres. These are constantly analysed to give the driver feedback about their driving and the areas that need improvement. All proceeds from the Fleet Safety Forum Awards for Excellence benefits Brake, the road safety charity’s life-saving educational work and care services for people bereaved and injured in road crashes. Brake runs the Fleet Safety Forum and co-ordinates Road Safety Week, an annual event promoting road safety in schools, communities and companies.
