REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – September 8, 2009 – GreenRoad, a global pioneer in improving driving behavior, today announced that Geoff Tate has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Tate brings more than 30 years of experience and a record of successful leadership in rapidly expanding technology sectors, as well as experience growing a company from start-up through initial public offering to a market capitalization of more than a billion.

In addition to serving on GreenRoad’s board, Tate serves on the board of another venture backed company. He is also the Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Committee for Engineering at California Polytechnic State University and serves on the advisory board for the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alberta. Previously, Tate was the CEO and a board member at Rambus, while earlier in his career he held several positions, including the role of senior vice president for all Microprocessors and Logic at Advanced Micro Devices.
Tate holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Alberta and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. Tate will fill the spot vacated by board member Tom Stephenson, who recently was named Group General Manager of the DAL Group (www.dalgroup.com), a U.S. $1 billion-plus privately held conglomerate based in Khartoum, Sudan. Most recently, Tom was the Director of group revenue management for Avis, the largest car rental service in Europe. “We thank Tom for his tremendous contributions to GreenRoad’s board and wish him every success in his new role,” said Elie Wurtman, GreenRoad Chairman of the Board.
