Eurobus stand 5/A 5, November 5th, 2012 — GreenRoad, a leader in driver performance and safety management, today announced that at Eurobus 2012 it will be demonstrating how Hertfordshire-based Sullivan Buses has cut driver risk and insurance premiums using GreenRoad and will feature a live GreenRoad Advanced Tracking demo using Sullivan’s vehicles and bus stop locations.
Sullivan Buses first deployed GreenRoad in 2009 across its fleet of 50 buses driven by a team of 100 drivers through its insurance broker, Belmont International. Within months it was able to negotiate an improved insurance premium by demonstrating dramatically lower driving risk. Accident frequency has dropped 62% over the last three years enabling Sullivan to achieve a 60% cut in claim costs. In 2012 alone, Sullivan cut its premium £50,000.
“Our record in reducing risk speaks for itself. But with new technologies such as GreenRoad’s Advanced Tracking we can complement these safety levels with a similar boost to driver productivity and a more efficient fleet,” said Dean Sullivan, managing director, Sullivan Buses. “There’s no doubt that our commitment to safety and fuel reduction helps us win business, whether the job is for London Underground rail replacement services or the glamour of the film industry including Harry Potter films. And now by focus on fleet performance we can improve our competitiveness even further.”
Advanced Tracking was launched in the summer of 2012 and is now available through a partnership with GPS Insight. Sullivan Buses is also enhancing its driver performance with GreenRoad idling and speed-by-speed zone features. With the idling capability, Sullivan management can quickly identify drivers, vehicles, or trips that negatively impact fuel performance. The GreenRoad speed-by-speed zone feature provides details about any speed violations and speeding events.
At Eurobus, GreenRoad will also be demonstrating the world’s first smartphone-based driver performance solution for fleets. Encompassing several key technological and engineering breakthroughs, GreenRoad Smartphone Edition, code named ‘Asimov’, is available now in beta for Android devices.
GreenRoad and Belmont first partnered in 2008 and since then more than 2,600 UK drivers have started using GreenRoad to improve their performance behind the wheel, cutting risk and reducing fuel consumption.
GreenRoad provides a single, comprehensive telematics solution to both change driver behavior and manage fleet performance and efficiency. Its solution engages drivers directly for meaningful, lasting behavior change. At the same time, fleet tracking, mapping and reporting help fleets optimize their daily and strategic operations. To GreenRoad customers this means increased safety and customer satisfaction and reduced operating costs for a clear competitive advantage.
