By David Ripstein - CEO

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – July 12, 2010 – Hod Fleishman, co-founder of GreenRoad, a leader in driver safety and efficiency, received the M2M Pioneers award and was recognized as one of the “10 innovators” of 2010 by Connected World magazine. The M2M Pioneers awards, presented annually by Connected World, honor 10 individuals for their leadership in advancing M2M solutions, both within their organizations and around the world.

“I am honored to be recognized by Connected World and to share this award with such accomplished and distinguished leaders,” said Fleishman, Co-Founder and Chief of Safety at GreenRoad. “At GreenRoad, we are committed to empowering drivers to be safer and more fuel efficient — something that would not be possible without M2M technology.”

The winners of the 2010 M2M Pioneer award are all recognized leaders in their field, such as, Jeffrey Bezos, President & CEO, Amazon.com; Donald Spence, CEO, Philips Home Healthcare Solutions; Warwick Stirling, Global Director of Energy and Sustainability, Whirlpool; Doug VanDagens, Director of Connected Service Solutions, Ford Motor Co, among others.

“Connected devices are the future, and the M2M Pioneers this year are proving it. Whether it’s in energy, healthcare, automotive, or many other industries, machine-to-machine technology is providing our world with incredible solutions,” said Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World magazine. “And this is just the beginning. I congratulate the 10 winners for the determination with which they have met their challenges, and the inventiveness they have harnessed to solve them.”

Ofer Raz and Hod Fleishman founded GreenRoad after nearly being run off the road by a reckless driver. The two aspired to create a technology that could both accurately calculate the risk of driving maneuvers as well as provide feedback to the driver so he/she can improve performance. Today, GreenRoad’s solution is deployed with more than 80 commercial fleets worldwide and GreenRoad’s systems have logged over 16 million vehicle trips.

Fleets that implement the GreenRoad service typically reduce crash costs by an average of 50 percent and reduce fuel usage and carbon emissions by up to 10 percent, in addition to lowering vehicle maintenance costs.
