GreenRoad Wins Prince Michael International Road Safety Award
London, UK, and Redwood City, CA – December 6th, 2011 — GreenRoad, a leader in driver performance and safety management, has today received a special Fleet Technology Award from His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent in recognition of the effectiveness of its fleet driver management programmes.
The Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards are presented to individuals, companies or organisations in acknowledgement of their outstanding contribution to improving road safety. GreenRoad accepted the award at the annual awards luncheon ceremony at The Savoy along with 300 attendees and guests including Lord Robertson of Port Ellen, chairman of the Commission for Global Road Safety.
GreenRoad previously won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards in 2008 in partnership with Staffordshire County Council.
“Thanks to customer successes including FirstGroup, Stagecoach, City Link, Bunzl and Iron Mountain, we are able to demonstrate the effectiveness of GreenRoad’s technology in making drivers and passengers safer on the road.” said Aidan Rowsome, general manager, GreenRoad Europe. “It is an incredible honour to be recognised by Prince Michael of Kent and to receive such a prestigious award. Our strategy is to keep innovating to continue delivering a high standard of service and benefits and sustain our leading position in the market.”
GreenRoad stems the cause of crashes by enhancing driver decision-making while behind the wheel. It provides the most effective, proactive approach to smarter and safer driving. Because driving decisions are responsible for 90% of all accidents and up to 33% of fuel spend, the only way to truly reduce risk and improve efficiency is by focusing on driver decision-making.
A typical customer sees a 50% reduction in crashes. But not only does GreenRoad save lives, it also cuts fleet costs through reduced fuel consumption, vehicle wear-and-tear and reduced insurance premiums.
GreenRoad provides drivers and fleet managers with real-time, comprehensive feedback, online reporting, analysis and coaching on their abilities, manoeuvres and patterns. As a result, GreenRoad positively impacts both conscious and unconscious driving behaviour – the key to creating more fuel-efficient and safer drivers.
Adrian Walsh, director of RoadSafe, the organisers of the awards scheme said, “In making the recommendation to Prince Michael, the judges recognised the importance of real-time reporting of driver behaviour in improving safety for GreenRoad fleets.”
The Fleet Technology Award is sponsored by Michelin.
GreenRoad provides a single, comprehensive telematics solution to both change driver behavior and manage fleet performance and efficiency. Its solution engages drivers directly for meaningful, lasting behavior change. At the same time, fleet tracking, mapping and reporting help fleets optimize their daily and strategic operations. To GreenRoad customers this means increased safety and customer satisfaction and reduced operating costs for a clear competitive advantage.
